At Least The FWCC Officers Checked Me!!!

At least FWCC did a boating check today on me (my second in less than 2 weeks) or else I wouldn't have had any action on the water today.

Over 50 miles of trolling stretches in different colors, speeds, locations, etc. and not a single bump. :(

On top of that, I tried 4 different spots for bottom fishing and I didn't even cut a lip. :(

I put in at the fort and the seas were great, the wind was perfect, and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. The water temp ranged from 49 when I started to 55 when I left. All in all, it beat a day at work.

I'm looking forward to hearing from some of the other anglers out on the water today. Hopefully they had better luck (and skill no doubt) than I did.

I have fished "your" holes with you Chalk.
2x4s' do not count. Even if they are over 30 inches long. :smt005

JT: I covered about 50 miles in the Gulf today, you'd think I would have come across one of your holes... From what I hear your holes cover the area lie the dew......

Has anybody heard of any keepers getting caught trolling lately? I've gone about 4 times already this year and have managed one keeper.

I went out yesterday too and didn't even get a short. Fished between 40 to 60 feet. did catch about 20 to 30 AJ's though.

My son went out yesterday from Carrabelle and they had a great day. They went about 7 miles off shore to a couple of good holes. They caught one nice grouper, 25 or 30 black bass and he said they also caught some red snapper but had to release them. Nothing trolling as far as I know.

Thanks Konrad and Reelcatch for the updates. Konrad, as far as the grouper go, I guess misery loves company...... Did you end up launching out of the Fort or over at Rock Landing?

Got down to Mashes Sands at 8am and got out without a problem. The way the tide was dumping out though if I would have been any later their would have been problems.

We went offshore yesterday too. Both trolling and bottom fishing. One short grouper, no keepers and about 1,000 blackfish. Talked to another group on a boat with 5 people, they only had one grouper. I guess that cold snap either turned them off or sent them farther offshore. Thanks for the post, I was hoping we weren't the only ones getting skunked.

Went out this past Monday and trolled for about an hour over spots that usually produce and got nothing. Things should begin to pick up if the weather stays warm.... I hope.
