Sunday a.m. was as slick as it can get. The winds were so slack that I took my fourteen foot skiff out of St. Marks past the Bell buoy and was on the hunt for skinny water grouper...unfortunately there were none to be found. However, I did manage to pick up 13 chubby rock bass to 1.5lbs..my gracious are those a tasty little fish and they fight on 12lb test. Got the blues watching all the big boats running out but managed a nice bag-o-fish anyway. Hope to get on a boat this weekend pending the weather. Wish more folks were posting info. to the site!

P.S.
Can somone explain to me the apparent discrepancy concerning gag migration to no less than 120 ft Jan-Mar for spawing and the supposed 15-25ft grouper fishing during the same time of year?

The spawners are older, bigger fish say over 20 lbs. They move offshore. The inshore fish, inside 60 feet, stay pretty much where they are all year. GS can expound on this more.

I love rock bass too. They can really save a fishing day.
