Anyone have experience with Okuma Acuador reels? I just gave in to an eBay sales pitch and bought an FS40 (14.6 ounces, up to 140 feet of 12-pound test). Now, I need to match it with a rod. The reel is new, according to Okuma's Web site. I can't quite tell if they even recommend it for saltwater.

Thanks for the quick response. I saw that on Okuma's site, too. As I just read it again, I realized the "3000/7000 saltwater sizes" in the next part of the description probably means the FS30 through FS70. When all else fails, read the directions, I guess !

They do look nice, anyway you can,t refuse to buy a reel with an "oval oscillating system".
I,m going to buy a Okuma reel for light freshwater fishing and see what they are like.
I hope I don,t get voted out of the Shimano Appreciation Society, for an apparent act of treachery.

I have zero experience or opinions (I know that shocks some of you) but for what its worth, Billy McDaniel (BillyStix) puts Okuma's on his spinning rods when a customer wants a combo. I have one coming to put on the BillyStix rod that I picked up in the NFGFC's raffle last month. Most of the folks that I have spoken with have basically said the reels haven't been out long enough for anyone to have a really good opinion about the quality, etc.

The Okuma arrived. Now all I need to do is buy some fresh line and carve out fishing time. Sounds like a keeper, though.
