I met up with Bow'd Upat his place around 4:30 for the ride to Jerry's. Got there and spoke with a few folks and got signed in. Now it was time for the ride to Keaton Beach. Another rather uneventful drive, in the water, down the canal and we're ready for the trout bite to go off.
We made a long run towards Spring Warrior and started fishing some bars. Nothing. Some old dude with another old dude and a young kid decide they want to fish about 20' from us. I think they were JT's spies. Nothing. Fish some more bars, nothing. Fish around a point and BBAAMM!!, 19 1/2" redfish.Turn the trolling motor on high, RB says, "Did you charge these batteries?", I say "Well yeah" and then we find out they ain't working to well. Time for a new plan, which we figured out real quick.
Idle over to some bars. Get stuck, get unstuck. Get stuck, get unstuck. Get stuck, get unstuck. We finally make it to those bars. BBBBAAAAMMMM!!!! 26 3/4" redfish hits the deck.

High fives, fist bumps and RB needed a col' beer. We fish on and on and on and on.
RB hooks another good one.

29" or so of redfish love.
I finally hooked something and it gets off. Another move and we're ready for the ride to the ramp and an easy ride back to Jerry's. Another uneventful run to the ramp and on the trailer with plenty of time. RB pulls the boat up the ramp and says, "We got a problem", "Man we got plenty of time" says I. "Flat tire bubba" says RB. the words I said can't be said on here. NASCAR pit crews couldn't change a tire as fast as we did.
It took an hour and 10 minutes to get there but less than an hour to get back, I don't know how that happened.
RB's red was big enough to win the pot and net us $450.00.
It was a great tournament with some great raffle prizes.
