Fishing and Politics

Post by big bend gyrene »

For those of you that keep suggesting that distrust for "progressive" liberals shouldn't be discussed on this board, would like to hear your defense after reading this article from ESPN about the Obama administration weighing a ban on recreational fishing. :smt011

"ESPNOutdoors.com inadvertently contributed to a flare-up Tuesday when we posted the latest article in a series of stories on President Barack Obama's newly created Ocean Policy Task Force, a column written by Robert Montgomery, a conservation writer for BASS since 1985. Regrettably, we made several errors in the editing and presentation of this installment. Though our series has included numerous news stories on the topic, this was not one of them -- it was an opinion piece, and should have been clearly labeled as commentary."

"But to go from concern to suggesting that President Obama is about to ban fishing in America is the most absurd and irresponsible thing I have ever seen a major news outlet publish. There is not even a remote possibility that a standing president of the United States will outlaw fishing in America."

Thanks for the links boggob. I didn't realize that ESPN and FOX have so much in common.

Actually listening to what other people say is worth the effort.
