I've seen it on Drudge, Fox, Aol,ESPN and several blogs. Sadly, according to reports, there will be NO PUBLIC INPUT.

Wow... the silence from the more liberal board members is deafening. Guess they just can't figure a way to introduce the constant "blame Bush" crap into this topic...
Those of us willing to be honest with ourselves knew it was coming... need not look any further than the appointment of Cass Sunstein as Regulatory Czar. His history is as anti-hunting/anti-fishing as they come, and he's been quite vocal in going on record for his desires that all hunting/fishing be banned. Sure that some wonkish member will want to go down the legal path of why the threat is not yet immenent/real, but having read about every article out there from both sides of the media aisle, even those criticizing the alarmist tone of the ban threats have admitted that bans ARE possible, only seeking to defend themselves by saying that they haven't been recommended... YET!
As ol' Rev. Wright said, ironically this firestorm is a case of the liberal chickens "coming home to roost". Congrats to all of those of you that voted for Nobama. JT, like you said in another thread... it's going to be a long three years...

Cass SunStein should donate his organs long before his death.

All I can say is........
"it is what it is." I love history and can't help but notice the parallels between the US electing Obama (present day) and Israel wanting and getting their first king Saul (Old Testament) so they could be like the other nations of their time. We know how well that worked out.........the similarities are astonishing
"Those that don't know history are destined to repeat it."

If this is what you are talking about, I can't find anything about restricting recreational fishing in the report.

"ESPNOutdoors.com inadvertently contributed to a flare-up Tuesday when we posted the latest article in a series of stories on President Barack Obama's newly created Ocean Policy Task Force, a column written by Robert Montgomery, a conservation writer for BASS since 1985. Regrettably, we made several errors in the editing and presentation of this installment. Though our series has included numerous news stories on the topic, this was not one of them -- it was an opinion piece, and should have been clearly labeled as commentary."

FTA...
Mr. Obama has said he will not override protections put in place by Presidents Clinton and Bush that established recreational fishermen as a special class.

Mr. Obama also said he was going to lower my taxes, fix the economy, the housing market and the close Gitmo.
So I, personally, think Mr. Obama says a lot of things.

I think we can agree that all politicians say things.

I read the same thing, but thought I was missing something with all the stir up.

Let's see...
Cass Sunstein = Obama's handpicked Regulatory Czar
Cass Sunstein also = someone that thinks trout should be able to sue you for being hooked/cleaned/cooked
Regulatory Czar = Someone to oversee new government regulations (regulations = what our founders called "loss of freedoms")
Not exactly a giant leap to think that Mr. Regulatory Czar who has loudly voiced hatred of hunters/fishermen for years might not want you to have the right to catch fish.
Not exactly rocket science math.
Reel Cowboy is right... this administration promised cotton candy and lollipops to everyone. However, Obama didn't exactly seek out a Charlton Heston type for his regulatory czar now did he?
Rest assured one side or the other is going to be burned on promises. Due to fear of the loss of majority, the democrats may well have to disappoint the liberal "progressives" but you can bet your bottom dollar that they hate to do so and in their heart of hearts have made clear what they REALLY WANT to do (read up on Cass Sunstein if you doubt me).
Doubters can sit silent, but as for me I'm going to keep raising bloody H&!! just to be on the safe side. Never know, Obama may decide tomorrow that as with taxes and his supposed Christian faith, that he has grown "agnostic" in his feelings towards banning fishing. I just want him and his type to know well in advance that they better be willing to hear and feel the sting of a graphite rod slapping against them if they go down that road.

Yes we can, but he's said so much and done so little.

Obama foolishly thought the House and Senate would work as a team to get things done. He forgot that "The Great Uniter" so split this country that it will be a long time before we all bail together to keep the boat afloat. A lot of damage has been done to this country and everyone needs to cooperate to repair it. Remember, the only people who profited in the last administration are either in jail or dead, and our kids are being killed off because he "always wanted to be a wartime president." (His quote) Remember to vote early and vote often.
