Got to Keaton Beach Marina Monday morning to find the place bone dry. The flats was dry as far as you could see. Barely enough water to launch at the lift. It was the lowest I've ever seen it. Wind was howling out of the NE. After launching we reevaluated the situation, loaded the boat back up and headed to Georgia. Was hoping to head to St. Marks for a night of fishing, but was away from my computer since Thursday, so didn't know what the plan was. Lousy atmosphere at Keaton anyway, so we did the wise thing I believe. BTW, the public ramp at Keaton looks a long way from being finished. Just don't think it'll be done as predicted on the 15th of Nov.

Sorry your trip did not work out. With a NE wind that water will get sucked right outa that place at low tide. Figures when it come to construction you have to wait for the 3 - 4th date to believe its going to be done.

What Chalk did not call yea,

we could have used some mojo.

Well, I don't want to mention no names ds. But no Chalk didn't call me. Worked my azz off Friday to finish my boat so I could go bond with my BigBend brothers Monday night. Changed my steering cable, changed my helm controls, my rotary unit, and reinstalled my rebuilt radio by myself. Even bought a new rod for the ocasion. Felt really unloved when I found out ya'll went without me. Had a local guide from St. Marks that I went to school with ready to go with me. Yep, I had a ringer going.
Just wasn't in the cards.
