Been awhile since I posted anything..Course its been awhile since I've had anything to post !
Hit Inky this morning about 8 and took a cold ride down the river. Wind was moderate so it was bearable..
We went to and area that usually has produced this time of year . Water almost black.. Wind started to pick up about the time we started throwing..From 9 till around 12 probably caught a dozen trout...half were keepers to 17"..Nothing to write home about.
Around 12 the water started moving and we drifted in toward the bank...Trout biting sporadically...
Went up a new creek when tide started in strong to try to catch a red..I was afraid we might be in one of Jumptrout's holes but found out real quick we weren't...We got on fish in a hurry..Caught three in about 10 minutes from 23" to 26"..Boy they were healthy looking..Marked this place for sure.. We went on back into the creek and didn't catch anything else.Water still black and fresh....By now the wind was howling plus it was still cold.....Water temp got up to 59 on the flats and up to 64 in one creek. 45 minute ride in 20 mph plus wind and we had the boat loaded..We did have one window from around 10:30 to 12 that it did warm up some..rest of the day it was uncomfortable...
Didn't fill the boat up but had a great time...Looking forward to trying it again in a couple weeks....Maybe spring will be here by then..
