With a morning low tide and a Buckeye's game the night before, I convinced Luke we should forego the Rocky's tourney and make a late run at some trout. We launched from Keaton around 9:30. Good to see the Stinson crew at the ramp. I hope ya'll found some fish.

This was my first trips in Luke's Hewes, and it was everything you expect out of a boat of that caliber. We headed out the channel doing the better part of 40 mph through some sloppy and seas, and I was suddenly more awake than I had been all morning. I started the catching with a mid-slot trout. We then had some dead time until I caught a nice 24" fish.

From there Luke took over and started catching reds on his secret lure. We probably caught 6 or 8 (Luke did most the catching), and Luke also caught the largest whihc was just over 26".

Thanks for the ride buddy, had a blast. Water was really dirty and I may need to rethink next Saturday's plan. At least we saw water temps in the mid 60s.

Sunday I met Katie and our friend Robin at Shucker's for some oysters. After a dozen raw and a brief conversation with the fish catching Taylor boy I chased the bass for a couple hours and managed 4. All were between 2-3#'s, so Boo and I didn't stop for pictures.

A nice weekend, now another week of work....

This was the first fish in my new net! As always, it was a pleasure getting out on the water with you Brian.

The 'secret lure' is a Terminator in-line spinnerbait. I was using an Exude RT Slug in Golden Bream as a trailer.

Golden Bream and Native Shiner (SW Assassin collor) seem to work well in stained water for some reason.
