This beautiful eagle flew over me on the flats and a little later I spotted him on a bar...I tried to drift to him but he would only
let me get so close.

Nik 300 w/ 17-55mm 2.8
I shot these on Manual as I had a little time to wait during drift....wish now I had slowed it down a bit to get some blur when he took off
pretty much shoot everything NEF
Times like this I wish for a super telephoto but could be very difficult to handle in boat handheld

I hear you - I been thinking about getting a 70-300 or save another few for a 300..then I need a wide angle and a macro :roll: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :lol:

Go ahead and rob a bank! :roll: :smt005
There are some good deals on 300 bodies now since the 300s hit the market.

I used an 85mm 1.4 for a couple of weeks courtesy of Amazon....what a lens! If I did more true portraits, macro or any studio shots it would be a must.
I opted to return it and wish for...and wait for....a 70-200 2.8 VRII. :-D

Like fishing, quality equip is great...and expensive!
