Keaton Beach 4/9-4/10

Fished Keaton/north Friday afternoon and Saturday for the Steinhatchee Community Tournament. Water was still a bit dirty on Friday but was clearer on Saturday. We ended up with 7 trout Friday and 2 of the fattest redfish I've seen. Both 27". I couldn't pinch them smaller. Mine 8 1/2 lbs, my buddy's was 8 1/4 lbs. We let his go as we already had a 24" red kept. Mine had two 4-5 inch too-digested-to-recognize fish in its gut. We lamented the fact that we caught them a day early but hoped we'd have the same results Saturday. Of course that was not the case. We only managed one 18 1/2" red (released) and 8 trout tournament day. My buddy's big trout was 4.4 pounds, the winner I think was 5.1 and second was 4.9. I whiffed on 4 or 5 really good bites for some reason. Just one of those days where you feel like you're fishing right but it doesn't pan out. Oh well, we had a great time and the fish are biting. Looked from the board like most of the tournament fish came from Steinhatchee, which was different than usual. The 2nd place redfish and most spots redfish was one and the same. That was a $600 fish!!! Brought out the cobia rod for the first time but didn't see any. Anyone know if they've been seen/caught at Keaton yet?
