Yeah it thought it was pretty slick that you could zoom in on the area you want instead of a GIANT chart.

It will also give you Lat. Long that you can transfer to your GPS.

Tin Can: I had trouble plucking lat/long off the site map. :( Can you give a coordinates-for-dummies tutorial?

I'd be interested in a crash course as well!

It's been a while since I used it, but there is a way to mark and save waypoints in Google Earth. You don't have to try to pick the coordinates. Also, if you have MapSource (Bluechart) there is an option to view your screen in Google Earth. By choosing this option in MapSource it automatically Google Earth automatically imports the waypoints in whatever Mapsource file you have open.

I'll do a little homework and get back to you on how to establish waypoints in Google Earth.

OK, Harmsway and pontoon_dude, rather than me trying to explain, open Google Earth. In the upper left corner of the window is a menu item called "Help". Open that. There is a search feature in the help software. Search the word Placemark. That will take you to written directions as well as a video. The video does a good job of explaining how to set a placemark.

using the google maps? I have a BB Bold with Google Maps, and I cannot save any way points or anything on the maps. Do you have something different then google Maps?

Figured out my issues with google maps, I was running v2.0.2 when it's on v. 4.0.2 now...Upgrade time!

My BB Goggle Maps only holds about a dozen waypoints (favorites)
I have a Garmin gps/sounder onboard too for my waypoints and paths.

Download Google Earth, better than Google Maps.
Also if you hit the little clock icon in the toolbar, then scroll about half-way back on the slider, you will see an older photo that shows the local obstacles clearly.
To find the coordinates, hit the icon that looks like a pin, then use the mouse to position the target over a rock. in the window, you will see the coordinates that you can transfer to your gps.
Easier to plot safe lanes than try to document all the stone out there.
