The Perry Optimist Tournament is Saturday May 1st.

It says on the site that it is next Saturday, May 1st. I cant fish next weekend does anyone know if we can get our 200 back?

This is a Team event. Entry fee is $125.00 per team if received before or on April 10, 2010. After April 10, 2010 the entry fee is $200.00. The final deadline for entry by any means is 7:00 p.m. April 23, 2010 EDT at the Carrabelle Captain’s Meeting. Tournament entry allows up to three (3) anglers to fish in the tournament. No changes are permitted in team members after the conclusion of the Captain’s Meeting. All team members must fish from the same boat. Entry fees are nonrefundable.

That says nothing about them canceling the tournament and rescheduling it. I signed up and made arrangements to fish yesterday not next weekend. I had my partner come from Mississippi to fish it and he cant come back next weekend either. If i cant get my money back then I'll chalk it up as a loss I guess.

The decision to fish is solely the captain’s choice. All anglers fish at their own discretion and risk. Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, the Tournament committee shall have the sole discretion to cancel the Tournament for (hurricanes, tropical storms, small craft advisories, etc.) In the event a small craft advisory is in effect during tournament fishing hours, the tournament will be postponed and rescheduled on the first available date.

seriously, my partner isn't flying back from OH next weekend. I'll still fish, but expect the right to change partners

Yep. if you singed on the dotted line you are working under their rules and it does say what JT51 said.
Your only recourse is to take them to small claims court if you feel you have been wronged. But that is one claim you will not win.
so either you fish May 1, 2010 or forfeit your tournament fee.

HAHA, not worried about it that much TD.

Every weekend until the end of June has tournaments scheduled in our general area.
There were 4 scheduled yesterday alone.
And,the Big Bend Saltwater Classic is just around the corner for Fathers' Day weekend.

Thanks JT51, I was really asking for my buddy due to him coming all the way over from MS.

Move it to Sunday May 2nd I know it is Sunday but nothing going on.
