RedTrout Shootout Update

Anglers,

Just wanted to let everyone know we are and have been working on many of the issues that have been brought forth. The postponement of the tournament is a disappointment for all of us involved. However, angler safety is first and foremost. I will be providing a resolution regarding date etc. possibly as soon as this evening and no later than tomorrow. I know in advance that unfortunately we will not be able to please everyone but we will be fair and follow the rules.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian, You guys do a really good job. As owner of several retail furniture stores in South Ga, I know first hand you will never accomodate everyone, everytime. All we can do is try. And you guys do a really good job with preparing for the tourney and communication with the anglers. Other tournaments Ive fished, I recieved a blast text. The time your crew took at 5 am to call up to 300 anglers is to be commended. Kudos to you and your crew. Anyone that cant understand the reasons these tourneys must have concrete rules and must be followed needs to be able to control the weather and other uncontrollable occurences. When they figure out how to do that, we'll make them tourney director, a job Im sure you'll gladly give away. I was about ten miles from the ramp when we got the notification, after driving an hour. Of course we were disappointed. And I will have to shuffle things around drastically to be able to fish the tourney whenever it is. Funny thing is, I knew all that when I handed the pretty lady the 200 bucks and signed on the dotted line. The rules are on the site and explained to all (including Keyser) :-D several times and in depth. Again, kudos to you and your crew. Cant wait to step up on stage when we get the tourney in and take all these boy's money!! BB

Thanks for the update Brian. As BB said, you do a heck of a job! Even though we probably would have won the tournament had it been held  , this will now give us a chance to increase our two fish weight. :smt045

See you boys on the water. Oh, one more thing...... will you be able to wade fish? :smt083

I'm pretty sure you can't sit on the bow and fish while your partners are pushing the boat off of a rock or sand bar. :smt005

NOPE. That goes under the no trolling category.

CairoTrout - the answer to your question is NO. The official roster for the RedTrout Shootout was finalized at the conclusion of the Capt. Meeting on April 23 at C-Quarters Marina.

Good to see somebody Man-up for a change. Thanks for the info Brian. I don't have a dog in this fight. I just like to stir things up sometimes.

Good luck guys. I fished a tournament in Pensacola that day and the wind didn't let off 40 mph gust til we left the water. And that was only long enough to rain really hard and the wind came back. It sucks to have it called off, but you all are alive to fish another day.

Good luck everyone.
