I used to go offshore out of alligator point marina, i had heard they closed the public ramp down. Is this still the case? Should i just put in in panacea? It ends up being quite a bit further out of panacea than the point so i would rathe hit the point. Thanks for your response. Kirt

I still see a few people launch there, but it is at your own risk. There is virtually no parking available since they put in the condos. The ramp is not maintained at all and at low tide it is challenging, even for small boats. There is a public ramp at the S-curve on the way to the marina, but again there is no parking. Mainly for those who have a place already on the point. If you know somebody who will let you park your truck & trailer, that would be the ramp to use.
