I am new to the area guys/gals, and I could really use some inside tips on what is there and what to catch it with. I just got a boat and have plenty of gear (for a grad student at fsu) , Any tips would really help me, just wanna catch fish there...
btw I know of other places to go, I just have transom issues and would like to keep it close to home for now. Happy casting.....

Bass Bream and Specs... Most of its a typical Florida shallow pan lake.
Fish the weed lines and back in the heavy stuff during the daylight hours.
Dawn and dusk brings some good top-water action.
Any soft plastic will catch fish.
Small Spinners, crickets and worms for the bream.
Minnows for the specs
There are a few areas that are deep- Sinks and some areas that were dug out when the lake was dry.
Its a big lake so pick an area an learn it.
The Landing at the end of Lake Drive is the best for a big boat.
There is a bait shop there will all your basic needs.

Buzzbaits after dark have been productive in the past. I have not fished it in a while though.
