Left the lighthouse with my father and son, just about low tide, did I say low, half the finger mullets backs were out of the water. We made it out
with the trolling motor, just in time. We helped about a 18 footer stuck at
the entrance to the creek, them went on our way.

Headed to the west flats were the birds were diving, quickly caught a nice mack, next hour nothing. Went to the east flats 3 feet, water clear as I've seen in a year or more, really nice, but no fish, head deeper and farther east, a few bites not keepers

Decided to fish the last couple hours of high tide at the mouth of the river.
set up between a couple oyster bars where the water current was good.
Start catching rock bass right off, not many keepers but fun.

My son hooked in to something that kept moving a little when pulled,
Clamped down on the drag (remember this) and pulled up an ancient anchor on 20lb braded line.

Pulled in a few more rock bass, using his rod, while bring in another rock bass something BIG grabbed from the other end, about removing me from the boat, remember the drag set tight. DADGum', spit fire..
I'm sure a very nice bull red.

Ended up the day with dinner, great to be out with my Dad and son, weather was wonderful, sweat shirt all day. Happy Thanksgiving
