Fishing the 2nd Annual Rock the Dock Tourney 5-22

Post by Talltails »

Two solid days of kayak fishing for reds, trout, and flounder, and I'm pretty worn out. Liam and I fished in the general vicinity of each other for both days. We caught more trout than I can remember near Turkey Point, in Alligator Harbor, and at St George Island. Topwater all day was the ticket. My biggest trout went over 27 inches and almost 6 pounds. It was good enough for first place in the tourney. Liam caught probably 6 reds over 24 inches and he posted 2nd and 3rd place in the tourney

Day two, I needed to upgrade my red. Early in the morning, on topwater, I picked up a 26.5 inch 7 pound red which ended up placing first place in the redfish category. Liam caught one that was 6 pounds and some change that earned him 3rd place.
I then went looking for flounder, and managed to jig up a few couple flounders that placed me 2nd and 3rd in the flounder category.
Congrats to Waltdawg for placing first in the Flounder category.
