What do you-all think? Is it cold enough for the fish to be in the Aucilla?

Me and my buddy Steve Brawner fished the St.Marks yesterday. Two trout 18" one red 25" and 35 more reds 15-17". All caught on straight grubs and mirrolures. Yes it was very windy and very cold.

I spoke to JR at JR's Aucilla Store, and he said the trout weren't in the river yet. He wasn't sure why.

I heard of an report where the crabbers were seeing that the blue crabs
were missing legs, that means sheepheads have move in.

Hey Jumptrout, you said you fished the St. Marks. We're you up river, or at the mouth, or on the flats?

CSMARINE we fished from where the two rivers come together to the old Port Leon docks. They bit on the rising tide and the falling tide only. About a hour either side. Nothing in between.

Depending on tide times that could make for a very long time with no bite.

Thanks for the info Jt51. That means it won't be long, they'll be moving on up. Chalk said him and TK saw a school of what sounded like Yellow Tails at the lighthouse the other day. That's the first good sign of fish moving in for the winter.
