Me and the family went out yesterday around 8:00 to the west flats. We worked it from the channel to Patty's Island. We had very little luck and left around 1:00 without any keepers. I'm going to head out again today around lunch and give the east flats a try. I'm struggling to get this area and the fish figured out. However, I'm having a wonderful time with my family and new boat.

I'm looking forward to hearing about everyone else's weekend and their success.

Nothing can replace time on the water. Maybe look at a Top Spots map to see where trout should be this time of year. That's one way to start.
I would help you out but I do not fish that area. Maybe someone will chime in and give you some help.

If going East stay around the buoy line in the 5-7 foot water. Fish the bottom with jigheads and grubs.

I fished from my yak yesterday in that same general direction. The topwater bite was very good from 6 - 8 am in very shallow(oyster bars).

You missed the bite yesterday. Needed to be there at 6:00. I know that can be difficult with family.

Most of what they said-Topwater early or late. Rest of the day 4-6 feet, just a jig head, or Cajun thunder with a 3' leader.

What JT said. Although we caught a few shallower too.

I fished it on Sunday from 11-4 and no real luck. we fished with live shrimp, plugs and gulp. I did catch a nice red about 2:30 on the east end of the rock garden throwing a New Penny Gulp on a chartreuse jig head. I have pictures on this forum as well.
