Guys I have enjoyed reading reports and discussion for the last couple of months and finally decided to register. I am heading to Lanark Village on Sunday for a week and was wondering how much boom is already out there. I appreciate any info you can offer on navigating and any areas that will be closed off. I am over on the Alabama coast and have been dealing with this disaster and hope and pray that the impacts will decrease for you guys. Thanks for any info and keep up the work on a great site.

There is no boom anywhere east of the St. George Island Bridge and none is scheduled to be anytime soon. Unless you plan on fishing 20 miles west of Lanark, you probably won't even be in site of it.

You should fish the Saltwater Classic since you are going to be in town.

There is boom on stand by at Cape San Blas/Mexico beach with partial deployment done.
Since there is no oil near Mexico Beach/St. Joe Bay/Cape San Blas it is only there in case the oil move this way and can be deployed swiftly.
The NFGFC fished its annual St.Joe Bay tournament there this weekend.
The water and beaches are as beautiful as ever.
NO OIL and NO OIL SMELL whatsoever.
Some nice fish were caught, the weather was HOT.
Forty NFGFC anglers had a good time as usual at St.Joe Bay.

There is boom located east of the SGI bridge. They have almost completly surrounded Goose Island with it. They are stacking it high around the bridge and bird island. Water is still clear and the fish are still eating!
