Just Wonderin

Post by BAD BEHAVIOR »

I just saw a commercial that said the American Public should boycott all BP gas stores. Is this fair?? I am torn. I think BP's execs are a bunch of jackazzez like most on this forum Im sure. However, most of the BP stores you may shop in are locally owned stores by good hard working Americans. Most have a full staff of good hard working Americans who live, shop, and support there local communities. Should they have to suffer because of actions by the management of a company that has absolutely nothing but a namebrand to do with the store and its operation?? If you choose to boycott the stores, would you do it if they dropped their prices to ten cents cheaper than everyone else?? Twenty cents cheaper??? Would you take into consideration the local folks who could lose their jobs? LIke I said, I was just wonderin!!

I agree Jay, I find myself wanting to boycott BP stdations but in the end it also hurts local busineses. The local store owners might buy gas from BP but they are making their money on drinks and snacks in the store and the last time I checked Pepsi and Little Debbie haven't done anything wrong. :-D Good point.

Lets just say 100% of the folks boycott BP. Then BP goes under. Guess who pays for the mess?

Boycotting them is just plain ignorant and dumb. Yes, they screwed up. But I have ran a business for years, and I have screwed up a few times, that is just life.

I would like to add that our government and the MMS had oversight to all these decisions that were made that led up to this disaster.

Shall we boycott them and not pay taxes anymore? Hey, I am game... :-D

Why don't we boycott the so called "environmentalists" who only desire to allow drilling in 5,000 feet of water. Perhaps we should send them down the well hole and let them plug it. I enjoy the environment and am all for protecting it, but some regulations are a bit misguided.

Boycotting:

Should we boycott the state of Louisanna since they accepted the risk of offshore drilling? Should the states of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida expect the State of Louisanna to clean their shore lines becuase they allowed the risk to begin with?

Fact is, this problem is much larger then any boycotting. All of us must stand as one to fix the problem and not to create other problems out of anger.
