Hi everyone, I have been struggling with a fuel pump for the last couple of days. It's a 1990 dual tank straight 6. I replaced the fuel pump, and then two relays. Now I have a voltage meter because none of that worked. No power is getting to the tank selector, pump plug, or emergency cut of switch. I don't know where else to look! And I am not a mechanic. Thanks everyone.

The fuse pannel has a 10 amp fuse slot listed as tank selector. No fuse is on that spot. It only has a metal connection on one side, not both legs. This is how it was before the truck quit I presume. Ever heard of a one legged fuse?

Answer
Assuming its Fuel injected. check the FUEL pump, or the fuel pump relay.
there is also a fuel pump fuse under the hood you might check that first. Your problem is most likely a bad fuel pump. If its carburated check the fuel pump or a plugged fuel filer.
