Just talked to friends who are down there and they are putting out oil booms about 3/4 of a mile off the beach.
Called Capt.Joel Singletary, with Sea Tow, and he says there are no boating restrictions and no oil reported.
Sound like Franklin county is just getting things ready early.

I went down Saturday afternoon and took some photos...

I saw about 5-6 tender boats going out from AP yesterday over toward Dog Island and a bigger 80-90' boat loaded with boom coming out of Carabelle.

They were actually there last weekend and seemed to be running behind even at that. The reason I say that is there were a bunch or workers at the Lanark ramp just hanging around and when we asked them what they were doing, they said they were there to inspect the booms, but they were not out yet. We also saw the barge passing close in to DIR. Glad they are there...hate they have to be there. Cant wait to see the pics.

They agreed to halt work last weekend so as not to interfere with the BBSWC.
They were out bright and early Sunday morning.
