Rubber worm, no weight, edge of a drop-off, let it slowly sink and watch for ANY change in movement

Hi Ken...I have caught some of my biggest bass in cold water. The first thing you have to do is slow down to the point that your bait is almost dead. I like using trick worms without a weight around hyacinths if you can find them. Just throw it out and let it sit for a couple minutes and then just barely move it. The other lure I use is a Husky Jerk. Throw it out and reel it down and just stop, then jerk it once about every 30-45 seconds. Do this in old lilly pad fields and around stumps. Also, try dragging a shiner behind the boat as you work your area. Hope it helps and good luck.

What Wevans said. I like a jig and pig, or jig and eel, fished near drop offs or ledges. Bass stick close to wood if available when it gets cold. They seem to wait for the big meal. Also a drop shot rig fished slow, slow will work on cold water bass. I'd rather fish for winter bass than summer. I have caught more large fish in winter months.
