Grizzly and I left Taylorville at 5:30 Friday morning headed to Carrabelle to pre-fish the NFGFC tournament.
First stop the Carrabelle BP for a sausage egg and cheese sammich.
Second stop,City Ramp.
Third stop, oyster bars and shallow flat.
Half a dozen short trout and half a dozen ladyfish in 15 minutes.
Fourth stop,8 miles away. A couple short trout.
Fifth stop,5 miles away. Nuttin'.
Sixth stop,3 miles away. A couple good hookups. Nuttin' landed.
Seventh stop 3 miles away. A few missed bites.
Eighth stop 12 miles away. Lady fish.
Ninth stop,2 miles away. Short trout.
Tenth stop,3 miles away. Holey Moley....a keeper. Then more ladyfish.
Eleventh stop 2 miles away. Short trout, spanish and ladyfish.
Getting late and wind picking up.
Twelfth stop 8 miles away. City Ramp.
After 19 gallons of fuel in the boat we check in at our room with the BassBoys.
We all get a shower and head over to the St. James Grill for dinner.
After a big round of prime rib and margaritas its' off to bed.
Saturday morning came early at 4:30.
Woke up to the smiling faces of our Saturday partners, Warrior Mock and MPA (michael "preacher" aman).
Yep.
BP for breakfast.
The Moorings for sign in.
The ramp at 6:30 blast off.
First stop Warrior puts a 4 1/4 pound she momma in the cooler.
Things went downhill from there.
Took all day and a nasty lightning storm for us to boat nine more keepers.
We beat the storm in at 1 pm.
Trailered the boat and went to the Moorings.
Sat out the storm and went back out for 1 hour of fishing.
The cooler air and water rewarded us with 3 upgrade fish to come in first place and Big Trout.
Back at the weigh in we had a smorgasbord of ham, roastbeef, turkey and cheese sammiches and a couple of cool adult beverages.
