I found this on the FWC web site. I hope it is what you are looking for. It appears from the article we will not know anyhting new until the middle of next month.

The FWC approved a federal consistency action making the state red snapper season in the Gulf of Mexico consistent with the June 1 through July 23 federal season at its April meeting.

NOAA Fisheries Service is currently seeking public comments on a proposed emergency action to authorize the re-opening of the recreational red snapper season in Gulf of Mexico federal waters. Such a re-opening would only occur if NOAA Fisheries Service determines that the recreational red snapper quota was not met during the June 1 through July 23 open season. The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council does not expect that the 2010 recreational quota was reached because the area closed to fishing due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill is where a substantial portion of the recreational red snapper catch normally occurs.

At its August meeting, The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council voted to recommend opening recreational red snapper for a supplemental season in Gulf federal waters during weekends only (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) from Friday October 1, 2010 through Sunday November 21, 2010. If a supplemental red snapper season is approved by NOAA Fisheries Service, the official dates for the season would likely be announced sometime in mid-September. The FWC will discuss creating a supplemental red snapper season for Gulf state waters that would be consistent with the federal supplemental red snapper season (if approved), at its September meeting in Pensacola.
