For Sale - Olympus Camera & Underwater Housing

Post by big bend gyrene »

Got a 5 megapixel splash/rain resistant Olympus Verve AND an underwater housing that have sat unused all of 2010 that I'm considering selling. Reason for the sale is that I bought a waterproof Lumix 10mp this January for a trip to Hawaii, not for the camera function but because it recorded high def video and I didn't want to lug around a camera and separate camcorder.

Me and this camera made some great memories together. For those of you who might remember me posting pics of marathons run around the country, this was the camera I was using. Here's a link with some photos I used it to take.

Hard to come by them online now, but amazon is selling it for $199 and I found another site selling it for closer to $100. The camera is designed to be rain/splash resistant but I bought an underwater housing so I could snorkel with it and used it on several reefs and while scalloping to capture some cool pics. Best I can remember the housing cost about $70 alone. It has an Olympus 512mb card with it (sells now for $15 to $25), and a battery charger. Has everything you need to put it to good use as a boat/kayak/canoe camera. Very small profile makes it quite the user friendly camera, especially if anyone wants to carry it while out running. :D

Not looking to rob anyone but can't give it away either, as I've got a few family members who I know would like for me to give it to them. Anybody interested, shoot me a pm and tell me what you're willing to pay for it. Understand that $200 will get a nice brand new waterproof camera nowadays, so again not looking for what I put into it -- just a fair amount for the functionality of the camera.

:smt115 Still haven't taken the time to order a pair of Costas and really eager to get a pair with amber lenses. Anybody got an extra set sitting around, be very interested in weighing a trade. :D
