I got a last minute call to spend the long weekend in Lanark. Only be a time or two... Any tarpon still hanging around? I've heard the front side of lanark reef is a good spot. Anyone care to share any tidbits for fishing Lanark? Thanks

Not at all.
Some buddies fished out of there today in the NFGFC tournament and said they were plagued with tarpon.
My team fished out of Econfina today and we landed a tarpon, caught by Grizzly "Jeremy" Adams and touched and released by Junior"fishes my holes" Dice.

We fish for trout at Turkey Pt. Shoals and I have seen several Tarpon cruise by. Fished there today 9/04 but only saw a few people up on the shoal searching for Tarpon.

I fished it hard yesterday (9/4). Acres of bait. Not a keeper trout anywhere as far as I could tell.

No tapon but wore the blues and spanish out. Mainly fished dog island reef. The blues on topwater was the best!! Lost a couple really nice trout, and had one come in half eaten. Great time was had by all. About to have a fresh fried blue sandwich.

We got five keeper trout, one large spanish, one keeper red fish tons of cats and a few small blues fishing the turkey shoals and the adjacent shore on saturday. Most from 4 - 6 feet of water, except the red, he was in about 3 feet. The bait was everywhere all day long. You could hear the fish busting the bait here and there but no feed frenzy every happened. Caught numerous short trout also. Probably would have been a little better with an incoming tide instead of the outgoing tide we had all day long.
