Great day with the Cast the Flats full day fishing class

Well, after much planning, scheduling, free seminars, and advertising we finally held our first all day fishing class. The class was held at Shell Point beach. Weather was perfect with just a light breeze out of the east to make it pleasant all morning. Cast the Flats instructors Liam Callaghan, Michael Ray, Rick Zelznack, and myself Jason Callaghan all discussed topics including: kayak rigging, terminal tackle including a hands on knot tutorial, inshore fishing techniques, safety, and fish management. The venue was ideal for the class and really lended to the success of our day
With our kayaks all rigged and ready on the beach we all paddled out to practice some different tackle presentations during the open fish session
Everyone in today's class was able to catch fish in the couple hours we were on the water. A couple of anglers even caught their first redfish from a kayak.
I was really proud of Nicolas for catching this red with a gold spoon on an oysterbar.
We all had a great time, and I'm already looking forward to our next class on November 6
