I'm sitting on ready, waiting to go fishing with my father. I talked him in to going last night, but he doesn't want to meet up until around 0830

(I've been up over an hour). My oh my how the times have changed. Oh well, the weather is supposed to be good. I'm hoping to catch a couple of grouper and then head in to Ochlockonee Bay and hook up with some reds. Either way, a day out on the water with the manthat taught you how to fish should be enjoyable.

Hey Guys: It was a great day out on the water. We got started a little later than we were hoping, but we still had a good time. The canal out of Mashes Sands was just about bone dry, but we managed to make it out. We fished my new "secret hole" that's within view of Alligator Point and caught about 1/2 dozen small grouper, a ton of trigger and some rock bass. We did manage one keeper gag off that hole. We then headed about 1000 yards away from that hole to hit another spot I found and we caught about 8-9 more shorts and one really nice red grouper. While fishing that second spot, we saw a boat on plane heading out, only to stop dead on my "secret hole". No doubt, my secret hole isn't such a secret............. I was so proud of having found my first spot on my own and it producing grouper. Oh well, I'm still relatively new to fishing out on my own and I am sure there are more holes to be discovered.
The winds totally died afternoon and it got ablazing. The mackeral and blues were killing it everywhere. On the run back it, right outside the mouth of the Ochlockonee the mackeral were really working it. As we were scooting along about 40 mph, a monster spanish came out of the water and jumped up to eye level. It was a crazy site, both my father and I were amazed at what we had just witnessed.
Bman and Casey, I see ya'll fish with your pops alot, I sure you agree, it's a nice reversal of roles to take them out.
Alright, gotta run and hit HammaKnockers down in Panacea. I have been out of town the last couple of Friday nights and haven't had a chance to get in there and chomp down on some ribs and throw back some cold ones.
I'll be on the water tomorrow, same area. I run a 21 Sea Pro, with a garnet canopy, and a yamaha. Don't hesitate to ride over and say hey if ya'll see us out and about.
