12/15 Fenholloway report

I guess someone threw some bananas in the boat before I left yesterday. Its been a long time since I have been skunked as bad as yesterday. We fished between Fen and Hickory Mound. Tried to fish deeper water in the creeks with no luck. The water temp on the flats was between 40 and 41 and the creeks 41-42 from the time we got there at about 12:00 until we left around 5:00. I guess I should have went to steinhatchee or tried the mouth at econfina. With no sun the creeks didnt heat up any either. After absolutely killing the reds last friday i was hoping to see good action yesterday but didnt expect the temps would be that low. Has anyone been to or heard any good reports for the trout in the rivers?

Had a buddy go yesterday up the east river behind the sm lighhouse and caught over 40 trout with 5 keepers...he said the water in there was 48 in the am and 53 in the pm. Said they got a few pup reds but no keepers...just my 2 cents.....

Good to hear someone catching. Thats about the same temps that the creeks were last friday when I was fishing and it was a barn burner.

Rivers are slam full, mostly small but if you stick with it you can pull a limit.

Thanks for the report. Probably going to try the hatch or possibly econfina on Sunday, depending on the water temp reports.
