Idea about gulf fisheries managment?

Does anyone else think the federal government should stay out of fisheries managment? They can't managent anything right except for the military. In a dream world, the feds would only control use of our waters by other countries (Japan, Cuba, etc.). The fisheries managment for each state would be controlled BY THAT STATE!. I would be much more confident that FWC with all of its kinks would do a much better job....and if they didn't .....the governor would go. The feds have no investment in our state, local coastal ecnonomies, traditions, etc....ie. they don't care as long as they have control.
North Carolina shouldn't have any input into what happens to OUR gulf gas and so forth.
Also, if we as recs, commercials, charter capts. etc. could prove to the commision that there are tons of gags and red snaps out there would they adjust regs accordingly? Probably not.... They trust their flawed data more than direct evidence. I would have recs, charter capts etc volunteer to take independent surveyors out to dive some of their "numbers" that are evenly distributed offshore. If enough of the sites were loaded with fish, they couldn't say, there are no fish. If enough of these surveys were taken and extrpolated, it would benefit us as fishermen and divers. If we couldn't prove that the fish are there in numbers, then shut it down! But if we can, give us fish. It would be in our best interest to show the surveyors lots of fish, which I think we could.

THIS REALLY SHOULD BE POSTED IN THE GENERAL SECTION UNDER FISHING NOT IN A OFFSHORE "REPORTS SECTION" JUST SAYIN
