New Year Guest Look'n For A Good Home

On New Years Day, I had a White Bull Dog pay us a visit. I would guess the dog is perhaps 2 years old or less. It took me a good while to convince it that I was OK and was agreeable for me to put a rope around its head and steer it into my shop. The dog just showed up walking across the back of our lot actually out in the dead grass at the lake edge. It picked a spot, laid down and was resting when I approached. It had already come nose to nose with my Brittney who was in the back yard while my Mother who was visiting was setting on the deck. There was no sign of any aggression. There was a collar but no information on it. There was a small piece of chain, actually the swivel from the end of a chain hanging from the collar but no identification. I've put up some flyers with pictures at 3 convenience stores and one at the Dollar General store down the highway. Since I was able to get a rope on the dog and get it to allow me to put hands on it, the dog has calmed down very nicely and allows me to put a lead on it, pet, play etc. I can not however plan on keeping the dog. The dog looks in good health. I've contacted the vet in the local area but haven't heard anything. There has been no evidence thus far that there is any type of objectionable behavior towards people or other pets. I've had it in my shop for 4 days and there has not been any miss behavior with chewing or other bad behavior. This bull dog has a very sweet attitude and would make some one who needs this type of animal a great companion. From what I've seen and the progress we've made together this dog would be VERY trainable (IMO). If some one is interested, send me a PM or email. I will be dropping the dog off at the Animal Shelter before the end of the week if no contact from the owner. Here is a picture but it's not very good. It was taken with my phone. The dog is actually bigger than it appears in the picture.
