The species selection should make things interesting. I'm looking forward to another fun year.

Tom, A couple questions if you don't mind. How many boats do ya'll average at a tournament? Do you fish individule weight or boat weight? How much is entry?
Thanks.

We average about 10 boats per tourney, but it has been as high as 20. Depending on the species, it is a boat weight. Everyone on the boat is on the same team and the team weighs their biggest 1 man legal limit of trout(when trout is an eligible species), everything else is the biggest legal 1 per boat.
You have to have a member in good standing on the boat and the entry fee is $10 for members, $15 for non members. Average payout for first place is over $100.
We also accumulate points towards an Angler of the Year award. It breaks down as follows.
Everyone on the team gets the points
First place - 5 points
Second - 4 points
Third - 3 points
Participation in the tourney gets you 1 point
Bonus species weighed gets you one point.
Best part though is we have a cookout after every tournament.

Thanks Tom. It sounds like "for fun" tournaments. That's the only kind I fish anymore. Are all ya'lls club meetings in Tallahassee?

What Don said. 3 miles south of I-10 on Thomasville Road. Meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Yes the tournaments are about fun, although some folks tend to forget about that.
