Another boat ramp question - Fenholloway

I have never been to it but on the way to fenholloway page rd. cuts off the paved road to the left. I have noticed there is a boat ramp way up one of the creeks but do not notice anyone ever coming out of that creek. Is there a public ramp there or is it private? You can see it on the aerial view. If so what is the ramp/creek like? I fish alot around this area it would be nice to have a place to put in closer to where I fish on the rougher days.

not sure, I have heard of spring creek but never been, it would be the only boat ramp between fenholloway and spring warrior that I can tell. I I remember the creek mouth for the ramp being about 1.75 miles from the mouth of fenholloway. If so, how is the ramp and depth of the creek. I am sure it is a creek you would want a higher tide or smaller boat for.

Yeah, you gotta be talking about Big Spring Creek. It's owned and maintained by the State. The mouth of BSC is about 3 miles south of the mouth of the Fenholloway. The creek itself is not too bad to navigate, but the mouth gets really shallow and is full of oysters. At low tide, it's impossible to avoid the oysters even if you manage to follow the channel. Not the ramp to use for anything bigger than a jon-boat or little skiff, but the fishing's pretty good.

Ain't no fish up there, they're all in Dixie County.
