Ignoring the weather man

The weather man was callin winds blowing about 15 out of the sw on Saturday. Konrad and I decided to go in hopes that the weather man was wrong. We put in at the fort about 9:30. Well he was wrong, the wind was a stiff 20-25. We fished a few spots in the st marks river and did nada. We eased out to the bars to the east of the 22 marker. We managed 2 or 3 rats and a nice 24" red. By around noon the wind laid dawn to a more manageable 15 and we went to try creekmouths. We fished the mouth of big cove and Konrad got into some nice trout. He hooked three buy only boated the smallest around 17". We worked up into the cove with the trolling motor and worked banks and bars and saw nothing but mullet. I did get my first pinfish nibble of the year in the cove. They must be back. The wind started howling again and we were off the water by 2:00. After that we did a number on Savannaha's buffet. Oh yea, we fished topwater plugs, paddle tails, jerk shads, spinner baits, pink aqua dream spoons and we took a few live shrimp, just in case. All fish caught on live shrimp. Either freelined or on a jighead bouncing on the bottom.
