Runnin out from the Fort 3/15

I am home for spring break and came ready to fish. I have recently switched to braid and I was ready to get on some fish. First problem is that most of my friends and fishing partners had their spring breaks last week and are not in town. Second problem is the Lighthouse ramp being closed, it is a tough run from the fort in our 15 foot alumacraft, esepcially if it starts blowing. After lots of desperate texts and worrying about finding a partner, I finally found one. I was texting people that I never thought would come near my boat haha of well. We make the long run out from the fort at about 8 am. We stop somewhere around the mouth of the East River and I catch a short trout on the first cast. Next cast produces a 18 inch trout. As we work our way around to the rest of my spots, we manage a puppy red, 2 keeper spanish, a few more short trout and a few other fish. We released all the fish and the total for the day was 3 keeper trout and 2 keeper spanish. All fish caught on live shrimp. Wind was blowing a bit harder than projected. Planning on fishing again tomorrow with my Dad so hopefully we will find a few fish, I have a hunch that he may be more productive than my partner today haha. Tight lines, hope to see some of yall out there tomorrow.
