Kayak cleaning/buffing

My kayak has a fair amount of small scuffs/scratches on the bottom and sides where it looks like oyster shells have rubbed against it. There are no gashes or deep scratches, just really small scratches that appear white in color. These scratches are highly visible when you get close to it due to the fact that my yak is mango colored. What is the best way to restore the look and color of my yak? I've put a coat of wax on it, but that did not hide the little white scratches. I did some reading about a product called 303 protectant, but it looks like that just protects the yak from future UV damage and does not cover scratches.

Any suggestions?

Are you trying to sell it or something? Those scars tell a story, be proud of them.
