We fished Keaton Beach flats on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we got out on the water at about 10 am and fished til about 6 pm. Caught only three keeper trout and a few shorts. It was slow for us that day, used jigs/gulp, CTs w/ gulp, and jerkbaits. Water temps in the morning were only 60 deg and warmed up to 69 deg. by the afternoon. We fished from about 3 ft to 6 ft.
Sunday was a little better. Got out at about 7:30 am and caught a decent amount of trout from start to about 11 - 12 am, then it slowed down for the trout after lunch. The morning was decent with seven keepers and about 20 short trout. Caught on mirrodine's, redfins and jig/gulp and CTs w/gulp. The Mirrodine's and Redfin plugs did the best. It was foggy and overcast with little wind in the morning. Water temps started at 66 degrees and ended at about 71 degrees at 5pm. We did get into some Spanish Mackerel in 5 - 6 feet of water in the afternoon and kept about 6 keepers and released a few shorts.
