I know seatow is a sponsor on the site, but was wondering what the differences are between Seatow and the Towboat US ? in this area of florida. I have never had a membership but have often thought of getting one, the major push for one now is I just saw that on some plans you are covered in other peoples boats you fish in which is a plus.

I wonder what others think about this, too. My membership last year was with BoatUS. I made the decision based on them having a boat at St. Marks, which is where I spend most of my time.

All I can tell you is SeaTow has been there every time Ive had to call.
And its been a few more times than I wished- Twice from friends boats- one ran out of gas and the other ran his aground.
They answer their phone and give you updates on progress.

Knowing Joel, who runs SeaTow, there is no one else I want to call.

And Ken- the run for their boat in Panacea to St Marks is only about 15 min.

Seatow also covers from Steinhatchee to Carrabelle on Captain Joels' franchise.
Seatow is the tow service that covers any boat you are in if you are a member.
And as Bman said,Seatow answers the phone 24/7 with a live person.

I have Seatow. I decided to get a membership at the recent boat show. Both dealers were there, but the winning points for me were two fold: One Seatow is a sponsor of this site and Two, dang near everytime I do a radio check out on the water, I get a response from Seatow. They weren't pushy on the membership and were very nice. I hope I don't have to use them, but I am glad I have them if needed.

I have Seatow. Had it for 3 years. Never had to use them, but like others said, nice to have them if I need them.

I've always had SeaTow...Captain Joel showed me a courtesy several years ago that I haven't forgotten. Never needed to call them for a tow but do occasionally do call for a raido check. Company has earned a great reputation.

Mention the banner and they will give you the $149 rate (they went up to $169) - just in case anyone is reading this and thinking of joining. I just got off the line from joining Seatow). been talking about it for a while.
