Carrabelle April 1-5 Fished the 2nd.

Took a little break from the work action and brought the wife and kids down to the Carrabelle River. Got in way to late Friday to really enjoy anything so Saturday; my only fishing day guess comes true, didn’t get started until almost 10 AM, but hey we were here for the kid’s Spring break not my fishing pleasure! I guess I should consider myself lucky to have the wife and kids actually go fishing instead of walking all over Mickey world or something. Oh yea we celebrated the youngest 13th birthday a little early and Celeste even made Cake

Long and short of it is that we got out on the best day (least wind) with a beautiful morning and early afternoon that got a little rough by the evening and had a rather rough ride in, even in the bay, but still a super day. With a just little running around our inside 9 miles numbers we put a nice box of sea bass and grunts together seeing lots of turtles with a school of porpoise doing tricks for us; we were not miss any sea world shows, add the nice keeper Gag Grouper to the box and a Big Cobia show up (no luck) we had an exciting sea life filled day. The rest of the time was spent running crab traps in the river and visiting our friends in Apalachicola, shopping with Nana and just plain relaxing in a lovely house on the River! Thanks Dean!

Every time I go down it isn’t hard to remember why I spend so much time on the forgotten coast!
My daughter Emily has pictures and will hopefully send me one of our first Gag grouper of the year!
