Panacea Offshore 4-21

Snuck offshore with my brother to try and scare up a few red grouper Thursday. Seas were a bit ripe on the way out, but when the tide turned with the wind around noon it got really nice. Snapper were very hungry. Stopped at a wreck to take a look on the way out and found ample snapper in the 24-26" range. Let them go unharmed and moved along. First stop in 60' was a bit slow and we managed only one 20" red grouper. The tide was just turning so I guess they were all on break. On the way to stop two we came over a good looking ledge so I doubled back to take a look. In just a few drops we caught our other 3 red grouper for our limit and, again, several red snapper. Live bait was the bait of choice. We caught fish on dead but the bite was instant with pinfish. Used some large pinfish to try and weed through the snapper with no luck. Just bigger snapper! Can't wait for June. No pics this time. My brother took the fish to my-way while I unloaded the boat. Catch'em up.
