I am finally done with school for the year and back on my home turf. Fished the afternoon today with my dad and brother. We got a late start after watching my nephew play tee ball and got on the water around 1. We ran east from the lighthouse and focused our efforts on rocks, rockgrass, and other structure. It was actually a bit slower than I was hoping for and slower than i expected. We moved around alot, went through lots of bait, caught more bait, moved more, and finally we ended up with 4 keeper trout and 3 keeper spanish. Our biggest trout was 18.5. Haven't taken any pictures yet, gonna take some before we clean the fish in the morning. I'll be fishing with some of my buddies on Monday so hopefully we will find a few more fish. Tight lines

Way to stick it out and find a few!! I went twice this past week and really had to work hard to find trout... I don't know if they aren't hitting reel well wright now or if they just are not in our area thick right now (st marks that is)... Good luck next week......

I've had some of the same luck at Keaton. I've not found what they want and have not been on fish. It'll get better!

Good being home and on the water with friends and family anyway.

Thanks for the report.

Not a bad day Luc. You might want to try putting down the cast net and picking up some artificial lures. You can cover far more area fishing this way and can almost guarantee you that you will catch more fish. If fishing to the East, then pick up a Gold Bomber and have at it. Twitch, twitch, pause.....twitch, twitch, pause....Lots of big fish cuaght on this plug lately.

Congrats on a good day on the water!

Put down the cast net? Blasphemy!
Oh, wait...Keyser catches trout bigger than my redfish.

Nevermind.

I pick up an artificial every now and then but I was born and raised on live bait so it is tough for people like Gary Droze and the Williams Boys to get away from it. Haha thanks for the tip though, I'll give it a shot.
