Lanark, 5-4..interesting adventure

So my friend who is an obgyn sent me his schedule of off days for next month and yesterday was really the only day i could swing a trip. I knew it was blowing in the high teens, with gusts in the mid-20s, but i was not about to cancell this trip. He was on call all night, got off at 830am and met me down at lanark...that is where the fun began.
So picking up ice at crums on the way..i opened my door and the wind shut it on me...not the best sign when you have a 14ft tri-hull boat.
So i get to the ramp about 30 min before my buddy arrived, so i figured i run out real quick and maybe try to pick up some pin fish b4 he got there.
Well as i am launching my boat, i dont have the plug in...so i jump in boat real quick and plug it up...now no time for pins, i gotta full trottle it in the heavy chop and pull the plug to drain...
20 minutes later and soaking wet and cold, my buddy arrives.
So we run out and i am running my normal path when we stopped really fast...low tide was lower than id ever seen it there...wind was too strong to trolling motor it so for the next 30 minutes we r walking my boat to deeper water...losing a sandle in the process
finally we can do the only thing the weather would allow, which is a rediculously fast drift...
And through all the crazyness of the start, we managed not a big quanity of fish but solid quality...3 keeper trout, 19, 19 and 20, one being a real fattie...and a couple shorts.
All 3 keepers were caught on a CT with a camo colored gulp shrimp..water temp was about 74, caught in 2.5-4 ft
I dont recomend goingout in that wind unless you want to get really wet, but i would do it again in a heartbeat!
