For the past 8 years or so, during the spring I fish at least once a week-end.When the weather starts to get hot I usally get my tail out of bed and have the boat in the water close to a bar at 1st light, tide permitting. I can beat the heat and a lot of boats and be off the water by 10-11, thats my quiet time, right by myself, I love it !! This morning was going great,1st stop 19 in trout in the box before 6:30.Moved to 2nd stop, nice slot sized red boxed ! This is where I want to make my point ! As time pasted on my 2nd stop 2 other boats came out of the fog and fish behind me, with no pressure on me to move along , very quiet and respectfull. On to my 3rd spot , 8-8:30 or so. I see someone is in my 3rd spot so I move on to my 4th. I swing my boat wide of the bar I want to fish, kill the engine, drop the t/motor mabey 50-75 yds from the bar, wind at my back, perfit setup ! Nice and quiet right ? Hell , NO !!! The 2 DUDES who were at my 3 spot saw me closing in on the bar and had to beat me to it, just ran right up there and cut me off ! I couldn't beleive it SOB,SOB,SOB.Then had the nerve to say " Sorry about cutting you off we thought you were trout fishing " Stupid SOB. Was to mad to even reply, quess my Sunday mornings are not safe anymore ! Guys I am very sorry for the long post and if the 2 DUDES are also on this forum I took time to make sure I remember your boat ,POS, hope it efing sinks. And to BBF member sorrys bout the hatefull post.

It's getting worse, not better, GC. I've been in the same situation, unfortunately.
Here's the link to the second time I've covered the topic of Flats Etiquette. I used to believe most of these incidents were due to ignorance. But lately, it seems like people just don't give a damn and that's truly sad. It doesn't have to be that way. Sure takes the fun out of the sport, doesn't it? If everyone would observe the Golden Rule--treat others as you'd like to be treated--the waterways would be a much happier place.

It has been getting worse for the last three years. I have people running by me and cutting me of while I'm trying to pole or trolling motor to a hole.

I had two guys swarm around me the last time out asking questions. Then had the nerve to ask me if I had limited out. Too many people now with a boat and NO common sense or manners!

Yep, that is very frustrating. I thought I was the only one that attracted that. We were on a spot and tearing up the reds and had a yakker easing our way, watching us from a distance. The wind was coming from him (too far to hear us) but I tried to motion him over to tie off to our boat and fish with us, but I think he thought I was motioning him away. He had no intention of crowding us, but we could have shared the fish with him that day, there was room. Had drifts cut off (where they see you drifting and catching and then start a drift 100 yards in front of you). Had a couple of guys on a large sytem of bars that were in our way for where we intended to fish, so we gave them a real wide berth to work our way in, several hundred yards from them-with a trolling motor and stayed a long ways from them. After we hooked our third red, they picked up anchor and motored right into the same pool we were catching the fish in! We spoke to them about etiquette. They were young and maybe learned a lesson. I hope so.

I love it when they see you catch a fish and decide to swarm you but dont realize they are on the wrong side of the bar, clunk clunk whirrrrr crunch sputter many expletives.
usually I cant help myself then and Ask "You fellas catching anything this morning?"
BTW, I tried the weighted trebles they dont work because they snag on the reel in. A 2 oz bank sinker is the best, from a sitting position, it sails about 60 yards on 12 lb braid and makes a great splash on entry.
