Took off work to fish with some friends for opening day of snapper season. Fairly rough at daylight. Calmed down as the day went along. Ran about 25 miles SW of Panama City to fish in about 130 feet of water. Snapper were hungry. Caught a 7 man limit with the fish averaging around 28 inches/14-15 pound fish. We tried to get on some red grouper but the snapper would not let you drop down a large live white snapper or beeliner for bait...the big snapper would eat them. That was a first for me. Drop down a one pound white snappe for bait and catch a 30 inch red snapper. They seem to be getting bigger and more aggressive each year. Did manage to catch a few red grouper at one spot, nothing with any real size to them. I think the largest was around 25". We did manage to land a few large gags but had to turn them loose for flipper to eat.
