June 3-PIGS

Went out with my Dad today for a quick little afternoon trip. We were supposed to fish with one of our buddies but he backed out last minute so I hooked up the boat and went to meet my Dad after work. We hit the water around 4:15 and ran east from the lighthouse. We fished an area that we have begun to focus more on recently. Once we were anchored up, it didn't take long for us to know that it was game on. My first cast resulted in a 20 inch trout into the cooler. Next cast brought a 17 inch trout into the cooler. Soon after my Dad hooked into a good fish that we thought had to be a red. As he fought it, we saw the trout come up and knew it was a pig. I netted the fish just as he said that the fish wasn't ready haha. Got the fish onboard, measured 25 inches and was successfully released. A few moves later we put two more trout in the cooler, both around 19 inches. We were still looking for our good friend, mr. redfish. At a new spot I set the hook into a fish and I knew it was a good one. It was fighting like a red, and sure enough it was one. Fish measured 29 inches and was successfully released. All fish were caught on live shrimp. A quick trip, but a damn good one. Get out there and find them, tight lines.
