Fished with my Dad again today. We hit Jerry's at 6, then off to the lighthouse to launch. Stopped along the way to cast net a few mud minnows and pinfish and filled the livewell with them. It was so slick this morning that we were tempted to run to our red snapper holes, but then we remembered that we don't have any. We made the run east of the lighthouse with what seemed like thousands of others. Stopped on our hole and my Dad quickly put a 21 inch trout in the boat. He released this fish simply because of how fat it was. Then he landed a 19 inch trout and it went into the cooler. We did a bit of exploring but did not find much and then came out to another spot. I caught a 23 inch red in this spot and released it to swim another day. My Dad hooked up with about a 5 foot shark that broke him off. We added one more spanish to the cooler before leaving this spot. We ran to a spot that we just discovered while heading in yesterday and started fishing it. We added 3 more trout to the cooler in this spot, they were 16, 17, and 18. Also added a spanish. We had about a five foot poon come up and roll right next to the boat, he practically rolled into the boat. Unfortunately, he never did find the live pinfish we were floating. We called it a day when the storms started brewing and ran for the hill. Another good day on the water.
