Shorty's Bouy at SGI

I recently purchased one of the Florida Sportsman area maps for the region that includes St. George Island. I've fished there in the past, and know of the usual spots, but I saw a mark called 'Shorty's Buoy'. It's off the beach side, only about a mile offshore in 30 feet of water.

On the map legend, it says July is a great month for Redfish, Cobia, and Snapper. It says a sunken wood shrimp boat is found there.

Anyone have any experience fishing here? Can I go through the Cut and find Snapper there in 30 feet of water?

Thanks,

Whaler
